Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral

Consecrated in 1870, this Burges masterpiece sits on the ancient monastic site where the city was founded by Saint Fin Barre in the seventh century.

Cork City Gaol

Convent Avenue

This Gaol once housed 19th century prisoners. Visitors get a fascinating insight into day to day prison life at a time when the high walls ensured no escape and denied law abiding citizens the opportunity to see one of the finest examples of Ireland’s architectural heritage.

The centre is located along the Stone Corridor in the North Wing, at the cultural and historical heart of campus. A visit to the University also includes the Crawford Observatory, the President's Garden and the Lewis Glucksman Gallery

Shandon Bells


Enjoy the unique experience of ringing the world famous Shandon Bells from the first floor. View the internal workings of the clocks, the ‘Four Faced Liar’ and see the 18th Century bells.
Enjoy the spectacular 360° views of Cork City and beyond from the balcony of the Shandon Bells Tower.

Cork Public Museum

Fitzgerald's Park, Mardyke Walk

The museum's collection is wide ranging and contains items from abandoned Ogham standing stones to War of Independence momorabilia. Exhibits on display range from those reflecting Cork's strong sporting tradition to artificats associated with Michael Collins.

This museum is dedicated to the memory of those who died while performing their duty at home and overseas.  Its core collection is a wide range of memorabilia associated with Michael Collins.
